Project plans are wishlists — reality will always test them.
Reality of project management

Project Management Is Not for the Weak — Here’s Why
A short while ago, I was with a friend who was leading a major project for his organization. He had everything planned out — meetings done, checklists ticked, vendors confirmed, templates ready... On paper, everything was perfect.
Then, a day before the event… everything went south.
Team fell out of sync, expectations didn’t match reality, and the pressure was intense. At that point, even preparing a simple speech became the least of his worries.
Watching him navigate the chaos reminded me of one truth: 'Project Management is not for the weak.'
In that moment,
💡 Emotional maturity mattered more than any template.
💡 Flexibility mattered more than any timeline.
💡 And mindset mattered more than any tool.
Despite the chaos, he stayed calm enough to think clearly and keep things moving — and in the end, the program was a success.
But I left with a few lessons:
🔹 Project plans are wishlists — reality will always test them.
🔹 Emotional maturity is a superpower.
🔹 Adaptability is key, even at the dying minute.
🔹 A positive mindset helps you see solutions faster.
🔹 When the pressure rises, push unnecessary issues aside at that point so you don’t overwhelm yourself.
Sometimes, success isn’t about avoiding chaos; it’s about managing yourself inside it.
